MAJOR CHANGE COMING FOR HILLCLIMB
Announcement from Race Director
Hello everyone
I want to inform you of the decision I have made regarding my continuing as the Race Director for the Bob Cook Memorial/Mt. Evans HillClimb.
I moved to Northern California in early December. This move is a positive one for my husband and I and I had really thought I could continue to organize the HillClimb from here. After a very serious conversation with the people who have helped me for so many years - my family and close friends I knew I couldn't continue to do so without adversely affecting the race.
I wanted to personally contact all of you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for riding the HillClimb. I respect and admire all of you. I haven't met each and everyone of you but I do hear from hundreds of you about how much the race mearns to you and this has always validated my promotion each year. I also loved Bob Cook and his family and the mountain. Without all of you participating the race would not have been able to continue it's long history within the cycling community.
I am so pleased that I found Team Evergreen Racing and after lengthy conversations with them I have decided to turn the race and it's management over to them at the first of the year.
It is my hopes that you will continue to support them in their efforts to promote the event and to keep the race and it's legacy alive by riding and racing the event.
As most of you know I was personally connected, and still am, to Bob and his family. It has been my honor to promote and keep the event alive. Bob's memory is a most important part of why I continued as long as I did.
My love for all of you runs deep and I hope that I see all of you again at some time when I return home (Colorado will always be home to me).
